What We Love About Dollywood

Beautiful Setting

Dollywood is nestled in the Great Smokey Mountains and is as beautiful and bucolic as you can find in an amusement park. The park has embraced its beautiful setting, rather than trampling on it and a stroll through the park will take you past a Victorian town center, rustic mountain cabins with mossy roofs, creeks and ponds. Great attention to detail is spent on the grounds which are always manicured and gorgeous, with displays changing with the season.

Great Balance of Rides

Dollywood has carefully curated its rides to appeal to guests of all ages. There are simple rides for young kids, intermediate coasters for preteens, and thrilling roller coasters for the taller adrenaline junkies. The result is that no one in the family is left out. In any section of the park, there will be a balance of rides so that everyone will be just a short walk from something that appeals to them.

Music

In a park partially owned by and named after a country music legend, it is no surprise that music is a key part of the experience. Music is everywhere in Dollywood with performances ranging from a few musicians in a gazebo to full blown big theatre musicals.

It Doesn’t Get Old

Dollywood is not one of those places that you visit and merely scratch it off your list. It will pull you back again and again. There is a diminishing return on everything, even roller coasters and funnel cake but you will not tire of Dollywood easily which is why so many people buy season passes and make regular pilgrimages to the park. Dollywood is always changing and evolving, with new seasonal decor and performances and larger investments into new and revamped attractions. The park you visit today will probably offer you something that wasn’t there a year ago.

Exceptional Value

Dollywood has made it a priority that the park stays affordable. At the time of writing this, a two-day pass costs about $60 per day. I challenge you to find any place where you can get a full day of entertainment with the same mix of fun and thrills for 60 bucks.
